INTERNAL BEAUTY: COMPASSION

HELLO PEOPLE!

Here is a question for you today!

Soo.. 'What is internal beauty to you?'

Recently, we were having a conversation with a friend and we came to realise the importance of internal beauty. Basically, the conversation was about how he fell for a girl because of how pretty she looked. However, when we asked him about her personality, we realised that he had nothing much to say as he did not know much. That was when a thought struck us, we told him that she may have outer beauty, but what matters most is still internal beauty.

We then got down to discussing what internal beauty was, and before you know it, we were both out of words… it’s just undefinable!

Well, girls love makeup, hairstyles and fashion. Yes, these beauty tools get you to look beautiful on the outside but ultimately, true beauty still lies within one's self.
It is common to say that physical appearance is the first thing to attract someone. However, what we believe is that internal beauty still rules in the long run!

Therefore, for this week, our team will be sharing about internal beauty and the main factors that we believe is essential:

• Having integrity
• Being humble
• Having self-respect
• Being responsibility
• Being genuine
• Compassion for others
• Being confident
• Helping others
• Caring for others
• Loving others

And the list goes on and on!

We, the Ohsobeaute team, will be covering on three factors below:

• Having integrity
• Being humble
• Compassion for others

Today, we will be sharing about Compassion.

Compassion is showing that you empathise towards people’s feeling and problem. It is an emotion that we feel in response to the suffering of others that motivates a desire to help.

There's a lot of ways to show your compassionate side; you can go all out, like going overseas to do CIP work to the simplest thing such as smiling to someone. Choose to live in such a way that you are considerate of other's feelings and choose to help them without expecting to gain anything in return, but to simply offer yourself, your time and resources when you can. 

The Ohsobeaute team is proud to share with you guys that out of 6 of us, 2 actually went overseas with the intention of making life better for the less fortunate! 

First, lets start with Cenli. Cenli went to Laos to help the kids in the local school. She taught them basic English, and some handicraft. Also, she helped with the renovation of the school!

Next up, Edwin! Edwin went to Cambodia to help the less fortunate students to build a school so that they can have a better environment to learn and excel in.

Also, featuring one of our friends, John! Below is a picture of him donating blood because he believe that if he were to sacrifice a small part of himself today, he might be able to make an impact on someone's life. Good job John, we are so proud of you!

Sometimes, a smile is just a little effort away but you will never know how this little effort can brighten up someone's day. 

 During our  Samsung road show in school, Patrine took the initiative to make our school staff feel appreciated by getting them involved in our activity.  

Through all these small yet significant actions, they were able to make people's day feel better. This not only brings happiness to people but also shows that you are beautiful inside.

Beauty is only skin deep. If you go after someone just because she's beautiful but don't have anything to talk about, it's going to get boring fast. You want to look beyond the surface and see if you can have fun or if you have anything in common with this person.
